Faith-Based Efforts in the Caribbean to Combat Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

June 19, 2020
An Arcus-commissioned report that explores the work of faith-based organizations and initiatives to support the advancement of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) human rights in the Caribbean. Through interviews and focus groups with LGBTQI activists, faith leaders, experts, and gender and human rights advocates, the research found that the LGBTQI community’s visibility in the region has been steadily growing and challenging societies to reconsider issues of discrimination, rights, faith, and inclusion. But there are many obstacles to achieving full acceptance.
