Culture and the Conservation of the Great Apes in Uganda

This report by the Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda aims to establish the extent to which culture can contribute to the conservation of Uganda’s chimpanzees. It includes data from interviews and focus groups with national and international conservation organizations, national and district authorities, clan leaders, elders, youth groups, and traditional medicine practitioners in the Rwenzori, Kigezi, Tooro, and Bunyoro regions of Uganda.
