NEW YORK, NY; CAMBRIDGE, UK – The Arcus Foundation, a global foundation promoting respect for diversity among peoples and in nature, is pleased to announce the appointment of Glo Ross (preferred gender pronouns: she/her/he/him/they/them) to the Social Justice Program as U.S. Social Justice Program Officer.

In their new role, Glo will advance the Social Justice Program’s U.S. strategy by engaging with and learning from activists, leaders, and others within the LGBTQ and allied social justice movements to inform the development and implementation of the program’s strategic grantmaking. Glo will also utilize their expertise in research and analysis to assess data and knowledge that can enable the foundation to strengthen collaboration with grantee partners and support the impact of their work.

Prior to joining Arcus, Glo worked in the U.S. Government Accountability Office, where they served for six years as a senior analyst on federal environmental policy. Previously, Glo supported member-led campaigns at FIERCE! to build power among LGBTQ youth of color in New York City. They helped lead anti-police brutality organizing in Atlanta and facilitated organizing trainings and strategy sessions for various communities and organizations across the country.

Glo enjoys hiking with their pit bull pups, trying out new vegan recipes, and road-tripping to the beach. They hold a doctorate in Sociology of Science & Technology from Georgia Tech, as well as degrees in Black Studies and Global Studies.
