NEW YORK, NY (June 26, 2015) –– The Arcus Foundation, a global foundation promoting respect for diversity among peoples and in nature, today released the following statement in response to the United States Supreme Court’s historic decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.

“Today’s landmark ruling opens yet another door to the possibility that LGBT Americans will one day be able to enjoy all of the possibilities that are truly equal to those of our fellow citizens, and that our neighbors will know, see and respect us for who we are,” said Kevin Jennings, Arcus’ Executive Director. “Marriage equality here in the United States is a major step forward, and we congratulate the many who have sacrificed time, money, voices, privacy and even life itself to all of the work that has brought us to this pivotal moment. We look forward to continue working side-by-side with so many that are advancing full lived equality for all LGBT people everywhere.”
